Bio
Dr. Beurskens, is the Deputy, Directorate of Academic Affairs and Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Army University. Beurskens was the lead author for the "Army University White Paper" and the "Strategic Business Plan for the Army University," which led to the Army’s approval in establishing Army University in 2015. He has authored a number of articles, was editor of 'The Long Haul Historical Case Studies of Sustainment Operations in Large-Scale Combat Operations' (2018), author of CH 11, Assured mobility and River Crossing operations in 'The Last 100 Yards – The Crucible of Close Combat in Large-Scale Operations' (2019), and editor of 'Maintaining the High Ground: Historical Case Studies in Large Scale Combat Operations' (2021). Dr. Beurskens is also the Editor for the Journal of Military Learning. Beurskens completed a twenty-four-year military career that included assignments in combat engineer units, the Corps of Engineers, as Professor of Military Science at the University of Illinois, and major Army command level staffs. Beurskens holds a doctorate of management in organizational leadership. Married to Angela, five children, and two grandchildren.
