Bio
Matthew McLaughlin earned a B.A. in Mathematics, a B.S. in Physics, and a B.S. in Computer Science in 2010 from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. He earned a professional certificate in Modeling and Simulations from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) in 2015. He has also earned a Masters of Engineering in Modeling and Simulation in May of 2020 from Arizona State University. He applies mathematical solutions to complex modeling problems which supports combat analysis and constructive simulation experiments. He received the Army Individual M&S Award in 2017 for his software innovations supporting terrain optimizations. He began submitting papers for I/ITSEC in 2019, with a paper on optimizing artillery aimpoint locations. He also earned Best Paper in Emerging Concept and Innovative Technology (ECIT) at I/ITSEC 2021 for his research that uses tunable meta-optimization for leverage optimality in time-sensitive solutions.
