STCF Recap

There is no better way to kick off the start of Spring than at the annual Simulation and Training Community Forum (STCF) hosted by the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and the Simulators Division out of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. On Wednesday, May 3, 2023, members of both industry and government gathered at the Holiday Inn in Dayton, Ohio to discuss the future of simulation and training and how they can work together to achieve their objectives and goals. The forum commenced with a welcome from Agile Combat Support Program Executive Officer, Ms. Lea Kirkwood and Senior Materiel Leader of the Simulators Division, Col Matt “T2” Ryan. A brief Q&A was followed by a panel of Senior Leaders representing six major commands (MAJCOM) across the Air Force. This MAJCOM panel, moderated by Ms. Penny Mason, Deputy of the Simulators Division, spurred on a lot of questions and conservation regarding the future endeavors of simulation. No topic, however, was more highly anticipated than the new Air Force effort of the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). Questions poured in from industry as everyone was eager to learn how they could plug into this extensive effort. The forum wrapped up around 1700 and everyone gathered in the lobby to digest for refreshment and the information from that day. Thank you to everyone who came out to the STCF this year and we look forward to continuing the conversation in upcoming NTSA events.
